Nice to meet to, my name is Natsu. This is the first post of my blog! Today, I will introduce about my topic “ambulance charge.”
First of all, I will start with the reason why I became interested in the ambulance’s topic. Actually, I have many relatives who work in a medical industry. For example, my father, my ankle, and my two cousins are doctors. Also, my mother and my another cousin are(were) nurses, what is more, my aunt is a pharmacist. Although you might understand from this situation, when we assemble to talk, it is very natural that some medical topics are given. It was in a conversation between my relatives that I knew the problem of ambulance charge. I often see ambulances in a street so it is very familiar topic for me. Also, if I live longer, the possibilities to use ambulance might be high. So, I think this is a good opportunity to think or study how should we tackle this problem.
Next, I will introduce the overview of the topic I gave above, using what I know so far. Especially in Japan, it became a controversial issue whether people have to pay for the use of ambulances or not. In the background there is a philosophy which think that medical care should be provided everybody equally. So Japan haven’t set ambulance fee. However, recently, there are many people, in particular older people, who use ambulance as a taxi to go hospitals. This make a situation where enough medical care will not be provided for the people who really need help. So, some people insist that Japan should charge ambulances.
It's really understandable why you have such a strong interest in this topic with so many members of your family affiliated with the medical profession. I wonder if you ever considered becoming a doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. I used to teach students at Kitasato University who were studying to become vets, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, etc. I enjoyed teaching those students, especially the nursing students, who were always eager and curious.
